Rotary Year 1997–1998
Judith Cooper
During my year we had a lunch where all significant others were invited to thanks them for their unending support of our project and social events! I wrote the following poem to recognize them. It pretty much speaks to what was going on that year.
Partner Appreciation Day
Today is a special day
For our Rotary Club to say
A thank you to all our guests
For supporting us along the way
We've painted house for Habitat
Flipped burgers for PAL
Made spaghetti for Casa
With Sunrise Club et al
We've sold adoptions for Duck's Amuck
At Farmer's Market, Safeway and EA
We've tagged ducks by the thousands
And chased them in dingys - anchors away
We've cooked pancakes at Sequoia
In the wee morning hours
We've delivered food to the shut-ins
And assisted in a way that is ours
We've gone to barbeques at NFL
Played softball against Menlo Park
Toured vineyards in Napa
And paddled canoes for a lark
So much more have you helped with
Offered homes for soirees
Gone to melodramas, mystery tours
The symphony and Fox Theater plays
It's all been worthwhile
And a lot of fun too
And the projects and fellowhip
Have all been the better because of you
